September, finally. Read Chapter 2 in Writing Now. We'll use "Shooting Dad" in class, listening to the author's own reading of it, here. Look for my comments and points on your description groupwork (late Thursday 8/30).
Is there a subject you know well? Think about it and begin to gather information for an in-class essay in the style of Doyle's "Joyus Valadorus." But don't start it yet; there's a variable I'll give you in class--tone.
